Daddy and Me

I cannot keep Kendall inside. I can't believe she is my child. We went to the park this morning for play date, then she played on the patio with Sadie before naptime. Then, after her snack we went back out bc she was saying "Side" and took Sadie for a long walk. On our walk she decided to run and fell and skinned both her knees (it was warm today and she was in shorts). They were not that bad though. On our way back Matt was coming home and she started screaming and waving once she saw him. For some reason she did not want him to do anything but hold her once we came inside. So.....this is where this picture came from. She wanted him to play with her and he did!!!!!

Ranch and Lip

So, apparently Kendall thinks Ranch is lotion!!! She puts lotion on herself at bath time with our help. I guess since I did not already have Ranch on her plate and she saw me squeeze it out of the bottle she put her hands in it and rubbed it on her cheeks and in her hair! Then she said "Allright!!" bc she thought she fixed her hair. It is hard to tell from the picture, but her hair is standing straight up in the back. Once she got down she found her "pretty" as she calls it, which is her plastic lipstick. She ran around chasing Sadie to put "pretty" on her lips..lol

Cousin Ava Visiting

So far we have gone to the park and The Watermelon Patch. They have played hard and are getting along fairly well. Kendall has been a bit territorial and somewhere has learned the word "Mine!", which she was telling Ava about everything she had at The Watermelon Patch. She is having to learn to share her toys, which she is not to thrilled about. Oh and it didn't take Kendall long to teach Ava where my jewelry box was!!!!

Valentine's Gifts

(I have lots of catching up to do, so here are the next 7 months...Feb-Aug 2011)

We had to cancel our date night bc Kendall has a stomach bug. So, Matt came home with a dozen pink roses for Kendall and a dozen red roses for me :) And we each had a card and Kendall also got a Darius Rucker CD bc it has "their song" on it he said (It Won't Be Like This For Long). I got the Sugarland CD I have been wanting! You should have seen Kendall's face when she got the roses..priceless!! She kept screaming "Allright!!!" and holding them over her head like she had won an Olympic gold metal..lol She kept hugging his leg and giving him kisses. I think she really understood that he gave her a gift. So sweet!

Nature Walk

Today is a beautiful day!!! It is 60 degrees and no clouds in the sky. We started off our morning with homemade omelets by Matt. Then, Kendall and Sadie did some squirrel watching on the back porch while we got ready for the park. Matt and Kendall, and Sadie went nature walking, while I ran the track. Cottage Hill park has a ton of trails in the woods off the main track. When I finished we went down a short one so I could get some pictures. She kept turning around on the trail and saying "cheese" bc she knew I was taking pictures Matt said Kendall is the worst person to walk with..lol..bc she kept trying to get off the beaten path and explore other tiny trails that only she could fit through. She found sticks, pine cones, clumps of clay, dried leaves and small pine tree branches. Definitely not what I would call fun when I was that age, but she had a blast! I see lots of Geocaching in her future Nana and Papa!!

Valentine's crafts

Since Valentine's Day is coming I decided to try and do some fun heart crafts with Kendall. Yesterday did not go so well on my part. I learned my lesson. She was making valentine cards with markers, stickers, and stamps. Not a good idea. I thought I could help her out at the coffee table, but she was not willing to take my help. She would get mad once she stuck a sticker down and want to rip it off. The stamp pad she used with her hands and she would run from me when I tried to help her write with the markers. Lesson learned. So...today after her nap I had cut some hearts out and got CRAYONS, no stickers, and did the stamping myself. But, best of all I strapped her in her booster seat so she could not run around. It went much better!!! And she let me help her write all our names. We hung up her decoration and she loves to touch all the hearts! Still can't tell if she is right or left handed. Matt says she eats better with her left hand and has better coordination with it. She colored with both hands though. Maybe she is ambidextrous!!??!

Miss Smarty Pants

I started working on her scrap book at the table. Her and Sadie were playing in the den with me. Then, I heard the kitchen drawer open. This is what I found! She had gone in her room and got her stool, that I use to put her in her crib, and brought it in the kitchen so she could reach what she wanted!!! She is very sneaky!!!
